KETO LOW CARB GLUTEN FREE MOZZARELLA STICKS Air Fryer

These Easy Low Carb Baked Mozzarella Sticks are my fuss-free way to make a favorite restaurant treat at home.

Ingredients:

  • 6 Mozzarella Sticks
  • 1/2 cup grated dry Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups fried pork rinds
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsps water

Instructions:

  1. Cut Mozzarella sticks in half cross-wise and set aside
  2. Place egg and water in a small shallow dish or pan. Whisk to mix.
  3. Crush pork rinds with rolling pin or crush in blender. Should make about 1/2 cup pork rind crumbs.
  4. Place Parmesan, crushed pork rinds and Italian seasoning in a shallow baking pan
  5. Dip Mozzarella sticks, one at a time, first in egg wash, then crumbs, then repeat both egg wash and crumbs for second coating.
  6. Set mozzarella on dish or pan that will fit in the freezer.
  7. Freeze for two hours.After two hours: heat oven to 500 degrees.
  8. Working quickly cover a baking pan in parchment or grease it.
  9. Place frozen mozzarella sticks directly from freezer onto pan.
  10. Spray with a light coating of olive oil. (optional)
  11. Bake for 6-8 minutes, just till coating is brown and cheese is warm and soft.
  12. Serve immediately with warm marinara sauce, if desired.

Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella sticks (string cheese)

  • 2 eggs (beaten)

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian or regular)

  • ½ cup flour

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Cooking spray


Instructions

1. Prep the cheese

  • Unwrap the mozzarella sticks.

  • Freeze them for 30–45 minutes — this prevents melting/leaking.


2. Prepare the coating

Set up three bowls:

  • Bowl 1: flour

  • Bowl 2: beaten eggs

  • Bowl 3: breadcrumbs + garlic powder + Italian seasoning + salt & pepper


3. Bread the mozzarella sticks

  • Dip each frozen stick in flour → egg → breadcrumbs.

  • For extra crunch, repeat egg → breadcrumbs again (double coat).

  • Freeze again for 20 minutes so the coating stays firm.


4. Air fry

  • Preheat air fryer to 190°C (375°F).

  • Spray the basket lightly with oil.

  • Place sticks in a single layer.

  • Spray the tops lightly with oil.

Air fry 6–8 minutes, turning once halfway.
Stop when golden and crisp — don’t overcook or they’ll burst.


5. Serve

Enjoy hot with:
