Apple Pie Roll-ups

These air fryer apple pie roll-ups are the perfect treat! Made with apple pie filling, soft tortillas, and cream cheese, they are easy to make and so delicious. I love how they turn crispy and golden on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside. These apple pie roll-ups are best served warm, so be sure to reheat them before serving.

What Can I use Besides Tortillas?

Phyllo dough or wonton wrappers (egg roll wrappers) can both be used in place of tortillas.

If you want a gluten-free option, you can use rice paper or cabbage leaves

Whatever type of wrap you choose, be sure to brush it with butter or oil to help prevent it from drying out during baking.

Sandwich bread – use a rolling pin to flatten the bread

Another variation is to stuff the pie filling into a pastry shell. This can be done with either a pre-made crust or one that is made from scratch. Once the filling is in the shell, it can be topped with a crumble topping or simply baked until golden brown.

The important thing is to choose a dough that is pliable enough to roll up, but also sturdy enough to hold the filling

How to Store Leftovers

Store the apple pie roll-ups in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 2 minutes, flipping halfway to bring back their outer crisp and inner warmth.

Should I use Parchment Paper for this Recipe?

Parchment paper will prevent sticking and makes cleanup much easier. I suggest using Air fryer perforated parchment paper.

However, if you do not have any parchment paper on hand, you can still cook this delicious treat by lightly spraying the air fryer basket with cooking spray.

Air Fryer Apple Pie Roll-ups

These air fryer apple pie roll-ups are the perfect treat! Made with apple pie filling, soft tortillas, and cream cheese, they are easy to make and so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 (8-inch) soft flour Tortillas.
  • 4 oz cream cheese (half a block), softened at room temperature.
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons of powdered sugar (can use granulated sugar), to taste.
  • 4 tablespoons of apple pie filling
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil for brushing. Or spray oil.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C)
  2. While it’s preheating, mix softened cream cheese with a tablespoon of sour cream, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. You can add sugar if you like. I felt that cream cheese pairs wonderfully with apple pie filling and breaks the sweetness of apple pie topping.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the tortilla.
  4. Then add a thin layer (about 2 tablespoons) of apple pie filling onto a tortilla.
  5. Roll it up: Roll the tortilla with the apple pie tightly, but gently; ensuring that the filling is not falling out of the sides. Secure the tortilla roll with toothpicks, if needed.
  6. Spritz the oil spray onto the tortilla rolls
  7. Air fry for 6 minutes flipping halfway until the tortilla roll is golden and crispy
  8. Carefully cut into halves or quarters, if desired
  9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar (or Cinnamon sugar), if desired
